recently i had some trouble with my 99 flex fuel.after replacing every item in fuel delivery system and a ford diagnostics we found the wiring hrness wasnt on its mount @ the back of the intake manifold. after repairing 4 burnt wires we went to the gas station to get fuel and since then the fuel gauge doesnt work

update.had the chance to pull fuel pump and found out the float was inside the tank.

I bet that's what's wrong with mine.

Isn’t the float supposed to be inside the tank?

Float, pump and sending unit all one assembly

You mean the float was floating loose inside the tank.
I saw on Ebay a guy was selling the sender assembly with float separate from the fuel pump assembly.
And a picture of the assembly showed bare connections on the sender rheostat that could contact the fuel.
Not good? Hmm.

I went by O'reilley's and Advance and they both had pretty much the same. A Chinese clone for $78.00. Not sure I want to put a Chinese fuel pump on. BUT a Motorcraft is much more expensive. There's a guy on Ebay selling USED fuel pumps for $35 that was salvaged from a wreck. Who knows how long it sat up with jellied fuel inside it.

Went by there today. They have the Delphi brand for $91. Probably a Chinese one too. But I called Genuine and they have the Carter brand for $80 and its supposedly made in the USA.

I think so. For the 94 they may be trying to unload stock. The Delphi brand claims to be all nickel plated with stainless steel internal parts.

I paid around 150 for mine only because its flex fuel
