Let me start off with saying I love Rangers. Always have. Every vehicle I have owned has been a RBV. Now with that said, I'v about had it with my 2005 Ranger 3.0 Auto. I bought it with 15k miles in late 2007. It currently has 99k on the clock. Ever since I have bought it it has been in the shop constently. Most under warentee but now that its gone, I'm not paying for it all out of pocket. So far since I have bought it I have had the current things replaced :
Back window leak, new gasket installed. Rear end rebuilt due to loud rack and pinion noise. Rear main seal leaking oil. Transmition leak. The person who owned it before me had the transmition redone under warentee. At 70k miles the transmition started slipping, and when going into overdrive it felt like i was riding a horse, so i flushed it, and its still not right, but its better. Today, the alternator locked up and took the belt with it, causing me to miss a 1/2 a day of work. I just don't know what to do anymore!!!! :bawling: Its half paid off so I'm in limbo of trading it in. Anyway, sorry for the rant. Thank you all for the support you have given me in the few post I have posted. I have been a luker on this forum for about 6 years. Thank you all!

trade it in get a diff. one yours must have been made on a friday :icon_rofl:

What do you do with your truck?! I bought my 04 with 31k on the clock in september 07 its got 58 k on it now!!

Thats alot of mileage man.

Ive never heard of issues like this on a truck that new with a 3.0

I live out in the middle of nowhere, so its a long drive to anything. most of the miles were racked up in college. I knew i was going to rack them up, hince why i bought a 3.0 ranger.

once and awhile they build a bad one. I had a friend who bought a new 2002 and had three transmissions in it by the time it had 5,000 miles. he swapped that one off and bought something else. I've had good luck so far with mine, 2002 with 70K and so far a battery has needed replacement. hope it doesn't disappoint me after I just bragged on it...

Sorry you have had so many issues with your truck. That's definitely not typical.

I have the same configuration. Aside from a tailgate handle, cam synchronizer, and belt tensioner (warranty) it has been a great truck.
