front mud flaps and brackets

i have a 2007 sport 4x4 4dr now and it did not come with front tire mud flaps, has any one tried the front brackets and flaps off the 93-97 rangers on the newer ones. i had a 96 ex 4x4 and it looks like they would fit perfect on the newer rangers.front body looks the same for attaching brackets, just in case i wanted to.

they should fit, if not, you can bend them to fit... but i dont see why they wouldnt.

sorry I understand this is my personal opinion but MUD FLAPS! are you crazy! those are the tackiest things you could ever add to your truck!

Agreed. I promptly removed mine the day I brought the truck home. Flaps on a 2wd look too "grampa'ish" IMHO. I just recently tossed them in the trash while cleaning out the attic.

I prefer mudflaps on vehicles, to try to help reduce water spray and slush from impairing other drivers vision while driving.

agreed...it also keeps the slop from driving in the winter off the truck so you don't get as much on your clothes when getting in and out of the truck. my..$.02

I agree that, as a coutesy to other drivers, mudflaps should be in place. They also help with rock chips behind the wheels.

keeps more winter road salt off truck. you keep your eye out for trucks or cars without front mud flaps .you can see the ones that are rusted out don't have front flaps.

Agreed. The rear 'flaps also help keep the salt off the tailpipe and help keep it from rusting out too.

You've got flares since you've got a Sport. You can't run flareless flaps and you can't run 98-00 flare flaps.... I'd steer more towards you finding 01-05 flare truck flaps and brackets. They'll match your rear flaps in styling, and it's a sure bet that they'll fit. Running 93-97 flare truck flaps would look weird when running the 01+ rear flaps on the truck.

Sorry for a bump.....but this time with some pics....

Like I said above, I suggest getting 01-05 flare truck flaps & brackets based soley on the fact they'll match your rear flaps. In both shape and styling. Here's pics of my truck like the day after I bought it. 2001 XLT 4x4 w/ flares.
