Front mount Reciever gen1

Well yeah, I absolutely love the way they mount up like in your truck. I agree I was kinda limited to what I could do with the Gen 1 platform. For my truck I got exactly what I wanted, I think it will look better once its higher off the ground, after leveling and some 31's.

Actually, with a bodylift and a relocated bumper, the 1st gen lends itself well IMO to a recovery apperatus. You have a nice clear shot between the framerails.

I thought about a receiver, but since when I am doing something mundane like pulling a trailer the receiver I need is always in the other truck... and if I am in a pinch I knew it would be worse so I went with loops instead. Can't loose them or forget them. I would like to run some reinforcments back to the frame though.

Oh wow, that is pretty sweet. I always loved your truck. It is a real nice gen1, and has a real nice stance. That works out pretty well with the body lift. Personally I do not really see myself installing a body lift in this truck. not a fan of the gaps. I would spend so much time closing them all up lol.

Thanks, it still has a long ways to go though...

You can spend a fair amount of time tweaking stuff after you get it on... I mainly did it for engine compartment room, which is tight in some ways even with a 2.8 not to mention a 302 that I want to stuff in there.

I love your hitch too!! As mentined earlier, would you ever consider selling any? If you decide to, let me know.

Probably not, there could be some liabilities in building bumper brackets.

It would be pretty easy to make though, I have everything stripped off for my V8 swap so you now can get a better idea what is going on. The factory bumper isn't particularly massive, so I don't think I really changed all that much...

I also had to notch the bumper a little, I didn't get a pic of it before I put it in the shed.
