Hello,
I'm hoping to remove the fill plug and suck out all the old oil in the front differential, ('99 4WD), and have 2 quarts of 80w90 ready to go with one of those fluid pumps. But my concern is the drain plug. Unlike the rear diff or transfer case, I don't see this being a regular maintenance thing that often so I want to be sure I'm doing it right. When putting the drain plug back in, do I use one of those high temp thread sealant things? And does anyone know the torque spec? There's nothing in my service manual. Oh, and for that matter, it doesn't even list the amount of oil needed. I've read it's 1.7L but i know those little pumps can't get to all of the old oil so I'm just going to I make it cry.
