front diff vibration

I have a 2004 ford ranger edge 4x4, having vibration issues in the drivetrain after troubleshooting the issue found that the front diff was low on oil and it is the source of vibration, anyways I need to rebuild or replace the front diff, I have come across a front diff from a 99 explorer, I was wondering if anyone knew if the explorer and ranger diffs are swappable, I know I need to check the ratio of both mine and the explorer was hoping someone could give some insite thanks

As far as I know, they are the same ('98-'01 Explorer = '98-'11 Ranger).

Some '95-'97 Ex's I recall had CAD housings which you don't want.

Should be the same. Check with a local j-yard, there computers know what fits what.
Do not get a front diff from a V8 Ex, the awd ruins them.
