front clip removal?

anybody know how to pull the front clip for a motor and tranny pull? since its welded on?

dont pull the clip, to much hassle just pick up a sling for your hoist that will allow you to change the angle of the engine as you pull it, Harbor freight has them, I always just drop the trans down on a floor jack so that I can lower it and roll it along as the motor comes out and forward, Iput the chain with hooks at the very front on the motor and start pumping that baby up out of there have done a few this way by myself, as well as put them back in in one piece, some times I pull the front wheels and just put my bare rims on my lifted truck so its low enough to get over the rad support,

They make a special drill bit for drilling out spotwelds.

You can get the whole works pulled out together with the clip on but it is pretty tight. I did it with a 2.8/A4LD and a 3" bodylift on the truck without the fancy watchamajigger from Harbor Freight. It was tight because of the radiator support vs the harmonic balancer and the trans vs the radius arm crossmember. With a generic lifting plate on the engine and the hoist in the center hole you can tip to your heart's content but the radius arm crossmember is still going to rain on your parade.

A 4cyl (longer than V6) and/or 2wd... I dunno if it will go or not due to the increase length.
