Not sure where this post belongs, this is my best shot. I just realized my frames starting to rot out on my Ranger, the crossmember under the box is half gone, as well as a hole in the very back of the driver side frame rail. Worth fixing or worth scraping? my trucks giving me alot of problems as it is. :icon_welder:

cut, cut, grind, grind, weld, weld, sounds like good times ahead.

strip it af all the good parts and scrap it if its giving you all kinds of problems.

I had thought about welding it, but I've sunk too much money into this truck already, seems every week something else has gone in it, I know a mechanic who wants to buy it from me, so I might sell it and get another crown victoria with the money, or a ranger if I could find one for the right price.

Cross members are not that hard to replace...and mine had a bit of rust in the rear of the frame rail also...

I guess if everything is working and you want to keep the truck you will need to fully assess the rust damage to the rest of the frame and body supports to see if it's salvageable...

Can't help but mention (again) that I did a complete frame-off restore and it wasn't that hard considering...but it was not my DD and that can make a big difference if you can't afford down time on your truck...

Yeah, unfortunatly thats the way it is for me, its the only vehicle I have right now, and I've got not place for a 2nd.
