No, the bed side does not need replaced.
Well, I'd like to try pounding it out with a rubber mallet, but I don't know if I should. I'm not sure if it would look worse if I did.
Like said previously.. the metal has been stretched a little. Nothing personal, but it sounds like you don't know what you are doing and you stand a good chance of making it worse by trying to pound it back out. You will crack the paint more and it will flake off, and if you can't go and get it fixed for some time, will begin to rust. My advice is do it right or don't do it at all. Leave it alone, go get competative estimates, and have it fixed properly. From the pics your truck looks failry new. Don't half-a$$ it just because you don't have the money right now or your being cheap. I couldn't even begin to give you an idea of the cost since i have been out of the industry for so long; but i cannot believe that it would cost very much at all.
