and more durable than aluminum, and work well, and easy to find... the only real functional disadvantage to them is that they are heavy, and in some circumstances, the weight can be advantageous

They remind me too much of every piece of crap car that I have seen that lost a hubcap and it isn't worth putting another hubcap back on.



If I had to get black wheels, D slots are far better IMO.

IMO they are a fad, the new white wagon wheel.

while i'm doing that... you could always just put center caps on the rims to break up the black... if you keep them clean they don't look like chevy impala rims either...

also, the red and blue rings HUGELY break it up... i know it doesn't seem like much, but without it, it looks terrible!

That is them. I wish they came in a color than black though. Even with chrome center caps and lugnuts unless the lighting is right it is hard to make out any details. I have seen pics where you can't make out there is anything on the truck but chrome lugnuts and center caps. I fight the same thing with my black truck when I take pictures of it, you have to get a glare on it to make it out as anything but a black blob.

If I were to go steel I would try to get dark grey or gunmetal... so far my $75 set of swap meet special alloys are doing just fine.

Yeah if they came in grey or whatever other color than black that'd be nice. I thought about picking up a set of the white wagon wheels and then just painting them.

I say buy the ones in you original post. Just b/c you have a square body doesn't mean you can't have modern wheels. I hate people who think anything bigger than 15s is "ghetto" (whatever the hell that means) even if it's on 44s, and tripple on double roll bars just because you have a truck made in the 80s. Puke. It's about proportions. Do it, go with your tastes man! Just glad to see someone running something other than the run of the mill black steelies (which aren't bad at all don't get me wrong), or Dick Cepek DC-2s (used way too much).

Hey now, I kinda like having my truck somewhat "period"

Cheaper 15" tires are a nice plus too.
