Found on road...

Ive found several tarp straps. a 24” crescent wrench, 25’ stanley tape measure, 2-1/2 gallon plastic gas can (full of gas too!) , side cutter pliers, channel locks. Thats all I can recall. My sister once “found” a small floor jack- with the right front tire of moms car, while she needed a jack after that, she also needed a rim as well, jack wasnt useable, might not of been before she hit it- hard to tell what damage it incurred when it hit the highway from whatever it fell off of.

I've never seen anything useful to me. Mostly, pieces of bumper and remains of semi truck tires after the tread separated from the carcass.

That reminds me, I once found a semi-truck tire. Aluminum Alcoa rim and good tread. Unfortunately there was a slash on the sidewall and it wasn't worth the risk to sell.

My wife once found a semi truck tire in the wheel that held air, with her front drivers side tire, on the interstate. Luckily she didn’t flip upside down like some of the other people that found that tire.

she did need a new set of tires, control arm, and coil over strut.

Wow! Was the tire rolling or stationary?

The one I found was in the deep grass. It included some sheared studs with nuts...

this was laying on its side in the middle lane.

Got hit by at least a dozen people. Busy interstate in NJ in the middle of the night.

Worst thing I ever ran over on the interstate was a pallet. I was driving an 88 F150, 4x4 on 33" BFG's at around 55-60mph. No problem for me. Luckily, no nails sticking out of it.

Found a Mac pry bar, several nice channel locks, gear wrench ratchet… tons of cheap tools. Lots of ratchet straps. Brand new jack strand… wheels, lots of random stuff. I pick up a lot of crap on the road. My wife knows to just pull over and not argue anymore, she knows it will bother me for days if I can’t pick up stuff.

I landed a hundred foot or so roll of coax cable the other day. Best one so far was a 4-in by 4 ft piece of cold roll round stock that hit the pavement right in front of my 2011 right after I bought it. Kept that one.

Why is it that is seems only women not only find them but hit them?

Almost hit a mattress laying in the middle lane of the turnpike on our way out to dinner one night.

As soon as we got sat at our table, breaking news of a car-fire.. oddly enough in the middle lane of the turnpike.. came on the TV lol.

Small car couldn't swerve around it, got stuck, and the cat set it ablaze. Right at rush hour, on the busiest stretch of the turnpike.

The straight axle on my 63 Econoline 'found' a 94# bag of Portland cement @ 65mph on a freeway. The straight axle couldn't clear it completely and neatly peeled off the top layer of paper resulting in a huge dust cloud on a the freeway behind me. The cloud caused several other cars to ravage the bag further resulting in even more dust.

On my way home one night... on the freeway... I blew past a stihl backpack blower sitting dead center in the fast lane. Road was void of traffic so I braked hard and off to the shoulder I went. Stopped... grabbed reverse... hit the flashers and proceeded to back up until I got to the blower. I opened the door and a car was now headed my way... to close to run and grab it. Stood beside my truck and this fella moved to the fast lane and hit it. Must have been full of fuel because I got sprayed. He popped a tire and the blower was wedged under his lower control arm. He had no spare so I ended up giving him a ride home.

Stihl bummed about that one...
