thanks for the comments guys, to answer your question about the STX, no it doesnt have a build thread, yet. ive got all the pictures in a photo bucket file so when i get around to it ill make one up and hopefully my brother will maintain it afterwards. as for my self ive been laying kind of low lately, mostly due to the fact that ive been saving up my money instead of spending it, but heres the latest news on Thumper. the new subs are still on hold but ive been slowly buying new tires one at a time once i get enough saved up. so far i have got 3 of them, so i just need to come up with another $275 to get 2 more.
originally i was going to buy a set of 30x9.50x15 cooper discoverer st, the same ones terrra has on her sport trac, but after getting jerked around by kan rock tire for 3 days i decided to see what discount tires price was for their 30x9.50x15 bgf all terrains. to my suprise they were only $5 more a piece than the coopers and they had a full set in stock, so i drove over there on my lunch break and picked up 2 of them. when i got back to work i brought my wheels with the MTs on them and my new pair of ATs to the shop next door (the only people i trust other than myself to touch any part of my truck) and had them dismount, mount, and balance them.
when i got the wheels with the new tires on them back to the store i was cleaning up the wheels and noticed a gash in the side wall of one of the tires so i rolled it back to the shop and had them check it out. the tire guy said it looked like a screw driver blade had been intentionally stabbed into it, so he dismounted it and i took it back to discount, except they closed at 6 and i had to work till 7, so i had to make the trip again the next day. the next day i returned the tire, they said it was a mold defect and it was rare thing that happened (like 1 in 1000 chance), so they swapped me out for a good one and i purchased another new one. now that weve got all that reading out of the way, heres the pics:
my old mud tires (their future is still yet to be determined)
