Forget the Cardone pump

Same pump. Different shape of resivoir. It's an all metal Saginaw pump.

Why do you have the res clocked over so far? Clearance issues?

It's no where near done yet. I've got the compressor to mount up still.:D

What pulley's are you guys using? My steering pump is new and loud. I'm sick of these remanned pumps.

The pulley I'm using is one from a 90's E150 serpentine setup. The one from a Dodge Dakota could work it just has one or two more grooves to the pulley. The Cardone pumps are also a reman pump. Just don't know the true application, or if it's a "Replacement" for the ford pump.

The tbird pump was very expensive remanned. Very near the cost of an AGR pump.

Likely one of the Cardone pumps. Like I said in other posts the cardone pump is getting harder and harder to find and is becomming more expensive because they don't rebuild them any more.

I didn't want to mess with one of these pumps as they are over $180 with a core. $240 without a core, around here.

The saginaw pump is $60 with a core. That is Just the pump not the can.

I'm not sure if I have a DXF file of the brackets. I know I have a CAD file but I don't have a way to access it Just yet. If I get the DXF I could send you a file Andrew if you want. You still have access to the tools to make these. I know you were fed up with the shop you are working for now. You still with them?

93.99+45.00core. 138.99 is pretty expensive for a power steering pump.

Not with the place any more but may have access still. Moved on to bigger and better things. I need to get my york mounted at the same time as the newer pump as I only want to do this once.

They took my plastic pump as a core. The Ranger plastic pump, and t-bird plastic pump look the same. They don't have to know it came off a Ranger. This was at O-Reilly's.

I was told that the SOHC pump is a better pump. It is even a remote res pump. Anyone confirm this?

I've changed out a couple of PS pumps SOHC's, quite a paint to get out out. They are quite small pumps, and yes they are remote mounted reservoirs. Not too sure on how they hold up to big tires. I know they don't wine like OHV style.

The pump was off an Econoline 302. Same with the lines.
what year model?
so for the lines it looks like the pump is closer to the box than in the e150.no prob's just a little line tweaking?

The stock RBV pulley will not work with the Saginaw pump.
shaft diameter?

i'm looking at an 03/86 E-150 setup thats free.the motor is rebuilt. might just be looking for something to put it in,maybe my uber shortened sploder?! v-belt, speed density, AOD
