just wanted to let you know you are not the only one with a Dodge 2500 and Ranger. I have an 02 2500 diesel and love the truck. But I also have a 1992 Ranger Supercab 4x4.
Go to www.turbodieselregister.com. It is all Dodge Cummins based. They have a publication once a quarter. Great Site!!!! So is this one.

Cant beat free I would drive one for that. Acutally I do an 05 at work, I hate the body style and the auto trans but the Cummins is nice. Has lots of power lots of blind spots and the tranny doesnt always like to go into or stay in gear. Anyway congrats on the new ride and good luck..

I think Dodge is crap too, but there is no arguing with the Cummins engine. IMHO you won't find a better diesel in a truck that doesn't require a special license.

i'm kinda partial to the dodges myself, I almost bought a dodge cummins(98 or a 01, they had like 4 of'em) but i decided to get a 7.3 powerstroke, though i do love the truck, sometimes i wish i had a cummins also.

kool beans. yea i reg. for that site last night, just waiting for an email conformation so i can start using it. also have you done any mods ( exhaust, intake, fuel ext. ) that you really liked?

why do people think dodge is crap? in reality so is ford. so the dodge transmissions are problematic, my explorer i rebuilt 3 times in 150000 miles, same with my f150 i had. they all have there problems. i love fords but telling the honest to god truth, when i was working at a trans shop and repair shop we had more fords than any other vehicles. they make you money. if your gunu say that dodge is crap then complete it with ford, chevy, toyota, nissan, and bmws. they all have problems. imho my dad has a 2004 hemi dodge ram with 120,000 miles and we havnt had a single problem.

but yea idc what kind of truck you have the cummins is the best. maby thats why people add cummins to there gas trucks on engine conv.

My neighbor had an old ram 250 we called it old blue that when he sold it it had over 325,000 miles on it. It was of course a 5spd I loved that truck he had a whistler pipe put on it so every time you ship it would whistle a little bit. That truck was a beast we used it to haul bales with.

yea my neighbor had a f650 with the cat. for its size that damn thing was perty fast. he lfted it and put some biga$$ 38inch tires, still flew like it was stock.

now i just got to custom weld up a lift kit if i can to add a couple of inches.

and maby sell my ranger, jk f that i think im gunu save up some money and turn my truck into a desert runner or keep it cheaper and convert to 4wd. after all i have a d44 and a 1354 from before when it was the plan. who cares bout gas mileage when the dodge gets 17. the ranger gets like 13 it sux.

Honestly, for a 1 ton, I wouldn't buy anything but a Dodge. Superduty is a pretty truck but until Ford offers a real diesel again my wallet will be closed for tow vehicles. they cannot now, nor have they ever, offered a better diesel than the Cummins.
