LMFAO!!! the only good suzuki is an atv.
I strongly disagree with that statement...
We had a Samurai that we wheeled the piss out of for many years, and we didn't break single thing! Same with our friend who also had a Sami. All the Jeep we went with broke stuff every time.
And my dad has an '02 Suzuki XL7 with an auto tranny, that has had a very hard life. It's got close to 170K miles on, and we make a 200 mile round trip over the Cascades (Snoqualmie Pass which one side of is at sea level, the top is almost 3500ft I think, and the other side is about 1500-2000 I think, it's pretty steep for being a freeway) at least twice a month, pulling a trailer that varies from 500lbs, to close to 3000 at times. For 2 years there whet we were biulding our cabin, we ran this EVERY weekend with the trailer full of building supplies, snowmobiles/ motorcycles, fire wood, and anything else, and 5 people, and all our gear.
I would guess that 100K+ of that 170K miles, is going over this pass, loaded down, and we have not had one single problem with it, and it is 7 years old. Most cars would have EASILY gone through a tranny by now. Hell, my Ranger was on it's 2nd tranny at 145K miles, and ready for it's 3rd...
Xl-7's were (this is not true of the new ones) also one of the LAST small SUV's to have a full frame, solid rear axle, true transfer case, and an engine mounted the correct way, like a truck. I think the Toyota 4Runner would have been one of the only others. Non of that funky front drive-AWD crap.
I could go on for a long time about why it is a good vehicle, but I won't.
EDIT: I think this thread is about over... All I foresee is an arguement.
