Ford Focus Grill Guard

Wait..... Is this real life.... Is he actually doing this....

It's gotta be a joke right?

Pretty sure its real!

And by now im sure he's on every government watch list for googling "bomb making", lol.
Aand its not one lug on bald tires.... its way worse, he had poor fabrication skills (no offense kip) and he's talking about welding parts of his suspension and steering that are vital to controlling the vehicle. Candy coat it or do what ever you want with it, but how pissed would you be if you got ran off the road by this friggin monstrosity or ran over that piece of exercise equipment bumper thing and ruined a $200 tire or two?

One last thing though, if its not for strength, and just for looks..... and it looks retarded, what is the point?

Its not even half done, how can you say its ugly? its just a metal bar right now

Because I can already tell how bad its going to come out, lol..... and its on a focus. That vdub does look cool, but it doesn't have a bumper like this, and it looks like it was properly done, or they at least did a good enough job to cover bad work.... which I doubt.

Exactly. It's not even half done and it already looks like complete crap.
Its going to do more harm than good. I seriously do not understand this at all....

i'm just gonna go ahead and award this entire thread the "2012 Jammert@yahoo.com award" for excelling in the categories of "oustanding ideas", "talented fab work", "time wasting procedures" and "overall negligence of safety" . there's also an honorable mention for "forest fire starting techniques"

its a grill guard, not a bomb, whats so dangerous about it? if this is about the suspension design, shove it, send your concerns to my email cytex321@yahoo.com, I promise to put them in the junkmail column. Seriously, lay off with this dangerous crap, its for looks and to see if I can.

this belongs in the pirate ghetto/hack jobs right now, hopefully somehow, it resurrects itself

Can't build grill guards an apparently can't read either. I didn't say it was dangerous, I said it would do more harm than good. it's not a grille guard, it's a grille smashing, hold denting, mpg worsening piece of metal.

If you do get in an accident, it WILL do more harm than good.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

Number one.... we can already see.... that you can't, sooo you don't need to continue.

Number two, the bomb thing was talking about the remote bomb you said you were going to explode in your field.

Number three..... that car will be dangerous if you try to modify anything on its suspension with your fab skills! If you want to "see if you can" build something that doesn't share the roads with families and children passengers... build a go cart or something.

I totally dig when people say "Cool dude! Can't wait to see it when it's done!" Don't lie. Dear God, this is probably one of the funniest threads I've ever seen. Kip, you should be in better humor about this. I'm sorry everyone is ganging up on you...but you did post this on the internet in a forum where we're going to voice our opinions on this terrible idea. Look on the bright side, we might save your life!

I agree with everyone else stay away from the suspension. I am not going to dis the grille gaurd on a focus because i will soon be embarking on something similarly "interesting", just make sure it isn't going to fall off and destroy someone elses car on the road.

All I ask is one thing.... one little thing....

Please stay in northern PA. :tease:

I can't believe I read this whole thread (I must be more intoxicated than I originally thought). Kudos for trying, but seriously.... wtf!

On a serious note... there are spacers out there for relocating the strut lower. I'm not sure if they are available for the Focus, but I helped a buddy (although I still think he's lost his mind) install some on a Honda Ridgeline (before he blew a trans line). They were two flat pieces of steel separated by a piece of round tube and had studs in the proper locations to bolt in where the stock strut mount did. The strut then bolted to the lower piece of steel, thus making a 2" lift spacer. But please, let a better welder make them! I know I make some ugly welds with a stick welder (I'm far better with an old-school oxy/acet rig), but at least I know they'll hold (I've tested them extensively).
