Ford, Built Without Your Tax Dollars

how much did they get for selling Austin Martin to Egypt?

Something my Father In Law told me, he has a friend that owns a transmission rebuild shop and he told him that when rebuilding transmissions out of GM and Chryslers because of the design he will see them back in the shop again after x amount of years/ miles. but the Fords, once those are rebuilt he never sees those again. he said that ford only uses half of the available slots for one of the internal parts of the transmissions (I think it is the clutch packs, not sure) and when he rebuilds them he puts the parts in ALL of the slots, and it increases the durability/ strenght of the transmission. Don't know how true that is, but it is an interesting bit of info.

Yeah, Ford uses multiple build-ups of a lot of their multi-engine transmissions.

They will put an extra clutch and steel in each pack on the larger engine version and it beefs it up just a bit. Put them all in no matter which engine it's going to and you will never toast that trans.

I don't think Ford ever owned Astin Martin.

It used to be listed on Ford.com in their brands with Volvo, Land Rover, Jaguar, and Mazda.

Sent while I should be doing something else

I don't think Ford ever owned Astin Martin.

Pretty sure they owned majority share for like 15 years, then they sold it a couple years ago to stay open.
