Ford Aerostar 4.0 38"

Hi guys! I've been viewing this forum for a while. My name is Stefán and i am from Iceland. I have a Aerostar '91 lifted on 38"Groundhawg tires. I use Toyota Landcruiser 80 axles and T-case. Recently upgraded the motor and trans from a ´94 Aerostar. The "van" is build for glacier and mountain tours here in Iceland but is perfectly street legal.

It may look a bit high, but it used to have 44"DC Fun Country tires.
The suspension is really good though.

I think the donor was from the Landcruiser as well.

Thats right. Toyota Landcruiser transfer case and axles. Specialy made adapter between t-case and transmission.
This transform dosent have too be very expensive. Just find and cheap donor and get ready with grinder and the welder.

Iceland, ey...............had a buddy of mine stationed up there (US Air Force) back in the late 80's...........

SWEET ride ya built there................BEST THING that coulda happened to an Aerostar!!!

Any pics & details on the build for anybody else that might wanta "home-build" SUV????
