I am getting ready to replace the clutch and hydraulic cylinders on my 2000 Ranger. It has the 4.0L engine and a M50D-R1 tranny. Could anyone provide my with the torque values for the "flywheel to crank bolts" and the "clutch pressure plate to flywheel bolts"? Please accept my thanks in advance. -Roger

according to haynes with the 4.0L

flywheel to crank tighten to 10 ft-lbs in an alternating pattern then to 50-55 ft-lbs in a cross pattern and use locktite.

pressure plate to flywheel 15-24 ft-lbs in an alternating pattern and work all the bolts down a little at a time until the pressure plate is all the way down and then torque them.

TireIron, Many thanks -- I'm just in the process of getting all my bits and pieces together for the clutch replacement. Looks like I need to shop for some loctite.

huh....people torque those eh...

i always just tighten them down "pretty tight" with a 1/2 :D
