^ Yeah, it's funny I know, but there's a lot of stuff we can learn by paying attention to "folk" stories of things that have been done . . .
And I can't dispute that in many cases, they do work.
Given your post about ATF in a lawn mower's fuel supply, I would be tempted, and willing, to try it if my mower were in a similar conditon.
The topic of the original post, re: engine flushes using ATF - well, I guess that as with anything else, you have to run your own "question and answer":
1) Engine flushes - "yes?" or "no?"
2) Engine flushes using ATF as the flushing agent - "yes?" or "no?"
FWIW, my answers:
To 1): No, not at this point, because I change my oil and filter every 5,000 km/3,000 miles, and that's often enough that so far I don't see any need to.
If I were to flush my engine, though, I would be very careful to use some chemical that is meant as an engine flush.
To 2): No, never.
