Fluid type Q

I have a stupid question. Is the M5OD the Mistsu or Mazda Tranny? Mitsubishi made all the 4x4 trannies correct? (Atleast thats what the repair book Indicates) The reason I ask is I am going to change the fluid and the Mazda calls for Mercon and I dont want to put the wrong stuff in.

The M5OD-R1 is a Mazda Transmission that requires Mercon ATF

both the mitsu "FM" transmissions and the mazda transmissions have 4x4 and 2wd versions. but yes, the M5OD is a mazda transmission (Mazda 5 speed Over Drive). check the tech library for more info.

I know A4LD is (Automatic 4-Speed Light Duty)
