if you flip the shackles doesnt that bend the leafs in the opposite direction i was wondering if i would still be able to tow my trailer or my bike without any problems
we are talking about the shackles not the actual leaf springs... in the tech library you can see under flipping the rear hangers what were talking bout.... not trying to be an ass or anything
the first picture it shows of the hanger is the correct wy the 2nd is it flipped you can tell because the first picture still has the rivets and the secound picture they flipped it over and put in the bolts
I really think the tech library has the flipped hangers in both pics. I know what mine looked like stock and even have the 95 to compare to. My concern was which direction the shackle itself went. I'll send Zman a PM and double check with him.
So my 96 is back together. I had flipped the rear hangers and when I put the one side together I realized I would be riding on my bump stops that are alreay cut in 1/2. SO I went back to the OEM design and am still very happy. All new hangers and bushings in the rear really make a difference. Now I just gotta get my sway bar back on.............and new shocks.................
both pics are of flipped hangars.....
(don't know how that happened--makes it a little confusing, unless you done it before)......
.if you swap left & right hanger sides, you actually have the room for more up/down spring travel (but you'll never use that much travel),
so like he said......the "hollow-u-shaped side of the shackle can face to the front of the truck or to the rear.....
