Flex plate keeps breaking

i have a 97 4.0 4x4. I put new motor and trans in a year ago or so. the motor now has around 1,2000 miles. the flex plate broke I had it replaced. It broke again in 2 days.(thank the new mechanic i had do the job messed up.) took it back and the guy replaced it again. This time replaced the spacer and torque converter. Now 2 months later it just broke again. I'm not sure what's going on? any ideas?

Were the two hollow dowels in place, between the motor and trans?

Those are important, to properly line up the two.

I know when i put the new motor and trans in they was. i have not pulled the trans yet.
