2000 3.0 FF 4x4 Ranger. Had to buy another replicator.
The factory sensor failed back in 2009 and was replaced with a replicator that needed to be hard wired in. That vendor didn't have the proper connectors then.
Anyway, the truck got lousy mileage and never ran great with that sensor. But it did run for 8 1/2 years until....
It began to act erratic last week. I put some Seafoam in the tank and took a 160 mile drive on the Interstate to clean out. Used a full tank to go that 160 miles!!!
Forscan found bad communication from the replicator. Re-doing the splices did nothing, it was time to go shopping.

Purchased another replicator from Point A Engineering and installed it today.
This unit has the proper connector, so its a simple plug and go procedure.
Truck runs great now, seemed to use a lot less fuel on a 65 mile test run. I'll have to check the mileage to verify.

So far I definitely recommend the Point A Engineering part and sales service. :icon_thumby:

Thank you for the info. And thank you for your service.

Sorry for being late to the discussion, but, since my daily driver is a 1999 FF 3.0 (V-VIN), that sensor is Yet Another Time Bomb poised to Fook Mi (hat tip Austin Powers...)

SO... I gots ta ask:

1) How much cheaper is this Replicator than the real deal;

2) Why is the junkyard not a viable source for these mostly long-lived sensors?

3) Should I put it on my U-pull-it shopping list?

Thanks in advance... Ye Olde Ranger, Low Mileage

they range from $550 to over $900 depending on OEM vs aftermarket and where you buy it.

in the past I have had yards refuse to sell one. not sure why, or if you could just pull one and see if the yard even knows what it is.

the same part is on FF Taurus' from about 96-00 ???
