Flaming

now obviously flaming is frowned upon. But is it considered flaming when you reply to someones posts using a post that they themselves made, qouted?? And you yourself don't actually type out a post other then to qoute said persons post from a different thread??

My thoughts are as it appears to be out of context it can be taken as flaming (even though he did the flaming first). Its my fault though. I just couldn't resist. And its not like its some noob who would contribute but we are shunning him. Its some guy from pirate who mostly contributes in the pirate fashion of bashing or uses his beloved TLA of .................................................. SAS. But if he does get TOTM something will be very wrong in the world of TRS. And its not like its hard to forge a quote, but I have no doubts they are genuine.

In this curcumstance I don't think anyone would hold it against you! Well maybe one but, he (the flamer) doesn't matter. If it did matter he wouldn't have flamed in the first place. Right?

The one thing that i like most about this site is that the flaming is very minimal, and generally when some one is flamed, they deserve it. I think we have an excellent assortment of knowledge, views, and beliefs on TRS. And honestly i think that most people are mature enough to respect eachother.

I mean, your taking the very insults that were thrown out at someone else and returning them right back at the person that made the orig insult word for word. I guess if you can't take the very insults you throw out back at yourself, its kinda sad.

i mean if i call you an idiot and you qoute my insult in a manner to return the insult back onto myself. I'm not gonna get pissy and take my ball and go home lol.

To me, this site was always about the tech, from day 1. I'll just say that much more respect goes to the people who are building trucks, coming up with new innovative ideas and are always pushing the bar.

I think it's funny that someone comes from pirate, and can't take a bit of flaming on TRS. I have never seen an ounce of tech out of the guy, but I have read a lot of bullshit nonsense. Thanks for doing what you did so I don't need to read that crap anymore.

cheapthrill, in essense no. as long as you are just quoting said person, and not bashing on them yourself, that is in no way flaming.

Just to give a bit of credit to myself, I am a mod or admin for a few other gaming forums. I deal with flaming on a daily basis. Well I did before saying screw it and buying a new truck so I can spend more time outdoors.

That being said, flaming is arguing that perpetuates more arguing. We all know (or should know) that you cannot win an argument in a forum. Just doesn't happen. So adding fuel to that fire or even turning someone else's words against them can be considered flaming. Now if its pointed at someone that the forum community doesn't want around, it may be accepted by most but it really should fall on the mods or admins to take care of it. If its between two or more people within the same community, I say just hash it out in PMs.

Now I haven't really seen any of this going on here. And I would expect it to be a lot less prevalent than in gaming forums. But that's one of the reasons I still check out these forums. It seems like a bunch of guys (and maybe some gals) that like to get out there and enjoy a bit of nature. What's to argue about? Who has greener trees? Who's mud is dirtier?

I don't know who these Pirate people are, but should we actually care?
