well guys, I had my exploder 8.8 put in my truck...it was pretty much a rush job, as I begged my mechanic buddy to do it, as my other buddy was taking my old axle for his mazda....long story....

anyway, I got my truck back and he just welded the perches perpendicular to the factory spot on the axle...therefore, sure enough my axle is now pointing down towards the ground instead of up....

pinion angle is approx 3 degrees up I was told, so now, I look like it is about 3 degrees down....I don't have the other rear to put in the truck to drive again while grinding off the welds to move the mounts and my guy is waaaaaay to busy still to do anything now unless I beg and pay him again...it is a pi$$ off situation, but does anyone know how to fix this problem easy, with the axle still in the truck???? can I just grind them off, tack them in with my little welder and drive it verrrrrrrrrry carefully???.. :( anyone got any ideas?

When I put my Explorer rearend in my 94, I didn't move the perches, I used 5 degree shims to get the pinion angle I wanted..........

If you want 3 degrees up and it's 3 degrees down, get ya some 6 degree shims and it'll fix your problem without any weldin required.:c-n:

Dude, you need to measure exactly what your pinion angle is, no guessing. Shims will work in a sh!t a$$ situation ,but you should cut them off and re-weld them. You said you got a welder right?? :icon_welder:
