Fixin the One-Eyed Beast

[Ranger Kip]

Well, thanks to metal shop and a rivet gun, I am gonna be fixing the ranger, using wood, old heating ducts (sheetmetal), scrap metal, C-Channel, brakeline, fuelline, a MIG welder, and a cut-off wheel on a grinder.

PLAN:
1. Remove Cab
-cut welded section off of frame using grinder and sawzall
-unbolt cab from frame
-detach all lines, wires, and etc.
-remove cab and place it on wood pallets next to truck
2. Remove Bed
-unbolt/cut corroded bolts on bed
-disconnect fuel tank from bed
-remove bed and set on wood next to cab
3. Condition Frame
-support frame's weight on large blocks of wood in the rear
-remove wheels, axles, suspension from the rear end (brake lines busted anyways?)
-support mid section of frame with shorter blocks of wood
-cut bad section of frame off
-clean up good section of frame with drill/wirebrush and grinder
-weld C-Channel-Interlock onto the back of end of the frame
-cleanup rear axle and suspension (replace shackles+mounts)
-reattach rear end
-remove blocks of wood
-clean up welds with grinder to make flush with rest of frame
4. Condition Bed
-cut old heating duct vents with grinder
-hammer metal into sheets
-cut off majorly rusted areas of bed with grinder
-cut sheetmetal into right sized patches
-pre-drill rivet hole
-rivet patches onto bed
-cleanup rust spots with drill/wirebrush and grinder
5. Condition Cab
-remove interior, doors, and bench (everything)
-reweld bottom pan on driver's side
-cut out rusted spots on passenger side pan
-patch cut spots in passenger side using sheetmetal patches and rivet gun (double layer on inside and outside of cab floor)
-clean up all rusted spots with drill/wirebrush and grinder
-shampoo interior fabrics
-fix cracks in dash with plastic resin
-clean windows with acid (to remove stains)
-reinstall everything into cab
-fix windshield wipers (new pin)
6. General Cleanup
-cleanup everything with drill/wirebrush and grinder, patch where needed, and reinstall cab and bed
7. Fixup
-replace brakelines
-replace fuellines
-clean gastank
-hone and sleeve engine block
-replace rings on pistons
-new gaskets
-replace exhaust
-replace spare mount
-buy new tires and a full-size spare with tire
-buy jack from pick-apart from Ford F150 to replace Ranger's lift
-cleanup and recondition seatbelts
-replace headlight
-new wires for engine
-new belts for engine
-replace emergency brake cable

Until I get the warmth to start, and the C-Channel piece built at school, I am not startin, lol, plus, gonna need my buddy Eric Locey (High school buddy) to help me remove the cab and bed.
