first start dies and second runs funny

when i start my truck for the first time in the morning it always dies once with no throttle. when i use throttle it will stay running but very badly, misses and pops through the intake for about 2-5 min. once it warms up its better like nothing is wrong. any ideas?

Fuel pressure is bleeding down.

Turn the key to Run, wait 2 sec, listen for the FP to run, turn key to Off, Repeat 3X, THEN crank it over and start it.

If that helps, you either have a bad Fuel Pump (check valve stuck open), leaking fuel filter fitting or a stuck open injector. You might also check the line to the FP regulator on the fuel rail. If it has raw gas in the vacuum line, replace the FPR.

Hmmm I might take the air bypass off and clean with a good carb cleaner the dodad right behind the air intake. I suppose you could just spray into the holes the one on the left i believe. I just take it off and fill with cleaner and swish it back and forth.
I do this with all my rangers when i get them.
