So I have been looking for a 4bt religiously lately and haven't gotten anywhere. And in order for me to run it I will be doing a sas on my truck. Now my question is what should I do first? Find a motor or or swap axles? Opinions please.

I would do the axle first.

The way I look at mods is this: If one mod needs another for it to work properly, do everything else that the desired mod needs first, then do what you want.

Along with a SAS the truck is usually being lifted. It is easier to work on the truck when it is lower to the ground. I say motor first. Also the 4BT I believe is heavier than the stock engine and that could come into play with the front spring rates.

my thoughts exactly

I would do them both at the same time.

If you do the engine first, you'll have to chop more out of the oilpan and less out of the crossmember.

If you do the axle first, you'll have to have your front driveshaft modified twice and you may have to change front springs again.

If you do them at the same time... you can cut the engine crossmember out and build your own to fit with the axle and engine. You only have to have driveshafts made once. You only have to buy springs once.

The only thing about doing both at the same time is that once I get done building the axles funds will be kinda low so for the time being should i just leave them out of the truck?
