First glass project: Door pods molded into panels

this is a great idea and turned out great. I have been thinking of what to do since I switched the dash of my 87 to a 04 dash I have no place for a front speakers. Thanks for the idea.

^ no problem....if you are gonna make them to the door like i decide to do in the long run i suggest not making the pod...just go str8 into making the structure and glassing it onto the panel...i think this would be WAY easier than wat i did and would require less resin and mat.

When I do it it will be on a 87 witch has a flat viynal panel. so I will have to make a whole new door panel. I will deff. do a pic. and a write up when I do get around to doing.

oh...gonna do it outta MDF?....if i could do completely flat panels i would make like places for 3 speakers on each panel.

Looks good. If you want to save money on mat. Next time use fleece material. When I did my sub enclosure, the fleece was $3.50 a yard. It works well but you will need to use a thin resin in order to get the fleece to absorb the resin rapidly in order to keep it from setting up before you can use it. You can always mix up smaller amounts of resin but the thin resin like marine fiberglass resin works well.

well i used mat for the mold and stretched fleece over the structure then 2 layers of mat...these thigns are SOLID as HELL

What the hell you trying to do? Make bullet proof? If your going to build, build it to ptotect you from RPG attack. Looks good. Like you said, after the first one you always know what to do better next time.:headbang::icon_cheers:

lol...i just ddint want them to be all shitty and break later on so i built em to last...
