yeah, well i'm an avid linux fan and its all i run at home. Its so much easier for me to get around. But everytime I play around with office and the works at work I realize how much simpler windows CAN make some things, notable the entire office suite especially outlook and tools which completely kicks anything linux has out of the water. That and compatability!
But in other aspects...stability, personalization, and most importantly troubleshooting, nothing beats a linux system.
I used debian for a couple years...but it's system SUCKS for lack of a better word. When you have only one person maintain each package, you have problems. In SID, the latest and greatest, this causes breakage as some people are quicker to package new files than others. And waiting for all the pieces to come together finally and work to get into stable takes YEARS(yes, years, not joking). And there was a case a year ago or maybe 2 when thunderbird 1.5 came out, the maintainer for thunderbird had been inactive for a LONG time, so a process had to be taken to realize he was not a suitable maintainer and for the package to be pushed. This took months to even get into sid...in todays up to date high speed world thats not acceptable. So I generally run a more streamlined up to date system such as arch. But being a small distro without approval, they can't officially use firefox either. So they use the EXACT firefox code and call it Bon Echo, which was what firefox3 was called as a code name. And it's updated almost the instance a new version or stable beta comes out.
