Finished 545 motor pic

I'm liking how your project is turning out. I'm not too far behind you. I'm still buying parts and putting the engine together as money allows...long story. I can imagine your truck will be quite sweet out on the road. I can't wait to see what a similar engine can do in the dirt. Keep up the good work.

'vette killer. You fabbing a rear suspension to handle all the power. be nice to see what kind of times it pulls in the 1/4....

Rear suspension is stock leafs with relocated shocks (vertical behind rear axle) and (soon to be) cal-tracks.

New running vid.

http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=aw6ex1&s=4 This is from my older camera and the quality kinda stinks.

The default VE table in the Megasquirt was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too rich and I about suffocated in the shop before I got it tuned down where it would idle and not burn my eyes. lol Idles happily at 800 rpm now.

Ha. Beggars can't be choosy. Besides, it's all a part of the lure. Nobody expects a boring old powder blue Ranger to really be a powder keg with a lit fuse!

The flat hood will really lend to it's stealthiness when it's just parked somewhere. I've had nice stuff messed up in the past, so I like to keep a lower profile these days. :secret:

Not certain, but it sounds like good name for this beast. Nice work. Guess the old adage isnt true, you can stuff 10lbs taters in a 5lb sack :D

I got to drive it yesterday. Nothing special, just a little trip around the block. Took a vid of it idling in the driveway.

EFI needs to be tuned. It idles nice, but is pig rich when you start to open it up.

Are those the Trick Flow heads that use a Chevy header? A-460 I think they call them?

No, these are the TFS Street heads that are a raised port, Ford pattern. A-460's require different pistons and intake.

the engine intake is a custom one the build up is on his site and rangerpowersports

Then intake is an Edelbrock Victor I added injector bungs to.

I have been working on getting it tuned better. This last weekend I finally got to put my foot into it. It is an absolute freakin' monster. It definitely needs the caltracs. Time to start saving my $$$ for them. lol

Christ, that is Sick! I love how the truck still has the "V-6" decals on it. :icon_rofl: How much $$$$ do you have tied up?

$$? Heck I don't know. I suspect it is not as much as you might think. I was very frugal in searching for parts, many of which are used.

WOW MAN!!!! that is a great looking motor... how much did that motor cost?
