finally enlisted

He went in 2015. Just gave a thorough and seat-gripping report 11 years later.
Um... The sweating tends to happen about 11 years later. I was absolutely fully awake when I made that comment. šŸ˜…

Sweating is not delayed in Columbia, SC. It occurs immediately and constantly, 365 days per year.

I absolutely agree with you. It's akin to running through a sprinkler with your clothes on.

One of the many joys of Parris Island was jumping out of the rack to get on line, and realizing seconds later that I was already drenched in sweat. Before any of the day’s real business began.

I had boot camp in Orlando Florida in the summer. Same effect, but maybe less mosquitos than Parris Island.

I went left basic at jackson in May to go to benning for airborne, then back to Jackson for air, and back to benning in Kelley hill for permanent party. 95-98

Then in 03, to eustis for blackhawk mechanic when I went back in the army the second time

I went in November, so I was there for thanksgiving, -10 degree field training exercises, and apparently a rare snowing event.

Our FTX3 was a 25 mile ruck to a site that we setup as a FOB with foxholes and a checkpoint. It was 2 nights of -10° lows, with the final ruck back being 80° and humid af.

Overall I got permanent injuries in basic training, had a good 6 year contract with my aviation unit here in PA, and then served out 2 years on standby (part of the contract).

Was a fun ride I would gladly do again, if I wasn't in my mid 30's with a wife, kid and injured feet lol.

Auh, Fort Useless, best known for TRADOC, we would march by there singing every bad cadence we knew. I'm surprised we were never reprimanded.
