Snails pace but any progress is good progress.

Not much of an update, but I was able to get an intake manifold from dangeranger93 for my 2.5 Duratec

Wow, I completely forgot about this.

Yeah it's been on the back burner. It'll get done one day though.

Not really an update so don't get excited. I pulled the Fiat out of the corner just to test fit the panels to see how it looks. I also built a rack for it so I can wheel it around

Picked up a Getrag MT-82 from an EcoBoost Mustang. Good news is that it all fits, bad news is it's super snug. We'll make it work. The shifter is in the right place so that's nice. *The engine and trans are sitting a good inch or two too high in these pics.

Planning on using a Ranger oilpan, clutch, starter, and motor mount brackets. Belt drive will be Ford Escape with alternator on the exhaust side and AC on the drivers. There's not much room between the front of the engine and the radiator support, so that might have to be trimmed a bit.

I need to do all the metal work on the body, add some frame rails and suspension, weld it all up and such. Maybe in a year it'll be ready for primer.

I am so glad you are still building this. I love rally cars.

Me too.

This is my dream car, so I have to do it. It's only taken me 13 years, but it's finally getting worked on.

Built a rotisserie today so I can easily get all the metal work done.

Sandblasted most of the shell, and also started drilling the 1,237 spot welds that need to be removed and also cut out the floor. I'm going to be putting in full length 2x4 frame rails which will make everything easier; motor mounts, suspension, roll cage, etc

They cost more but I would definitely go pressure treated on the 2x4's for longevity. :icon_thumby:
