Fiat 131 build

Yeah planning on running some Michelin TB15 tires, 270 in front, 295 in back. Wheels will be 15x10 in the rear, 15x9 in the front. I could also run 17's, but I think it might ruin the classic look. I could run larger brakes though

Dunno how I missed this thread. Really cool build.

Got the body and chassis welded together for the most part.

Also getting the engine mounts made. Tight fit, but the steering just barely clears. I wanted the engine lower, but it's as low and as far back as I can get it.

The pace at which you get work done to your projects is an inspiration lol.

Ha! Sometimes I feel like I'm going slow. Cut once, weld twice, that's what I say

What brand headers are those? and is that a mustang 2/pinto steering rack?

Not sure on the manufacturer of the header. I bought it from a guy on here in the classifieds. I can look and see if there's a logo/name on it somewhere. The steering rack is a custom one from Flaming River, though yeah it uses mustang Ii style mounts, though narrowed quite a bit to fit the crossmember I got from Art Morrison

It is a long way to go, but the progress looks nice. I am excited to see this car be brought back to life. Good luck with this restoration build.

It'll get done eventually!

Transmission is.... large. Using a T5 in place of the the six speed Getrag might be a good idea.

Next steps are building the transmission mount, tunnel, floor and firewall.

Thanks! Yeah I will for sure bring out and about once it's finished. Planning on daily driving it.

Finding real Abarth gauges isn't easy, and I imagine getting them all to work with the various sensors might be tough, so I made my own using some Autometer Z Series which come with sensors and makes it easy. Designed the face in Inkscape, printed it out on my Canon 200 pro and stuck it on there. I'm still working on the other gauges.

Primer grey it is!

I didn't know about the cars and coffee thing, I may have to come by. If my little brother isn't working he'd love to see your Mustang, he loves them.

There is a C&C at UMC on the 31st if you are interested.
