Favorite Bands

First, and foremost, Led Zeppelin!!

I have now watched "The Song Remains The Same", which is a weird film thing they recorded when they were at Madison Square Garden, 36 times.

Most of the other bands listed here fall into my list of good music.

Things to add:

Buckcherry,
Monster Magnet
Nine Inch Nails
Rammstein
Tool
Early Godsmack (Sorry, IV ruined it)
Jerry Cantrell (to go along with Alice In Chains)
La Cacahouette (Local to Buffalo)
Baroness (Local to Georgia, but they play in Buffalo at least once a year)
Corpus Dei (Buffalo)
Trystero (my brother's band that I do sound work for... Electric Cellos are good)
White Zombie is always good...
The Rabies (Buffalo to go along with WZ...they were actually scheduled to open for Rob Zombie this spring, but that show was cancelled)

Hmm...there's alot more but I should probably stop....I'm a bit of a music junkie. I Really enjoy listening to and working with underground music, something about not being in the mainstream...

Tube Amps and Vinyl!

Have you listened the double DVD that was released a few years back?

Totally awesome...

IMO the best live version of Stairway To Heaven, Kashmir and Achillies Last Stand.

I don't think I could list my favorites, I have too many. A few years ago I would have said Led Zeppelin without hesitating, but I've since discovered other music that I like as well. They are still a favorite and have probably the most songs I like by one band.

3 Doors Down
Live
Fuel (More with Brett Scallions than without)
AC/DC
Creed
Rhino Bucket

Goo Goo Dolls (listen to Live in Buffalo THEN watch
the DVD of the same concert)

Alice In Chains. If you've never listened to them and you like rock/grunge, I suggest you listen to them. IMHO the best Seattle grunge band, blowns Nirvana away.

+1 !!!!:icon_thumby:

i personally dont understand what the hype is all about with nirvana.

i guess when a lead singer dies, it just makes the music that much better. idk.

pretty much all of the above. I hear a few songs from this and that person, I just can't understand why people like all of that rap and stuff, although the old skool stuff I kinda like but then it wasn't all about having a c****y gangsta life and what not.

Hmmmmmm...having about 50 years of listening under my belt there are so many groups that I like that it's like choosing an ice cream flavour in Basking Robbins....but my all time fave is...

Roxy Music...especially their Avalon album...

I have to admit that I played that CD (and a tape in my Ranger) about a million times...it is probably the most interesting music ever produced...

Other than that...Fleetwood Mac, Bob Marley (R.I.P), Supertramp, Police, Beatles, Stones, Pink Floyd, Robert Palmer (R.I.P.), and about a hundred others...oh, and the Stampeders...

As far as live shows go...Fleetwood Mac (Stevie Nicks in 1982 or so was simply awesome...but I think that may have been partly due to Mary Jane...and a rather intense crush that I had on her)...but I've only been to about 5 concerts...

good thread...

alot, manly country Rock, some Ozzy, metalica, nickelback, tim mcgraw, trace adkins, etc.

I play in and produce bands. I'm currently working on a project that should hit airwaves in 2009.

Not a big fan of stairway or kashmir(not to mention rock n roll or black dog). They are played too much and the only ones listened to by faux led fans. But I will have to agree with you on Achillies Last Stand! Awesomely powerful song live. I also like Over the hills and far away, Immigrant Song, Dazed and confused, and We're gonna groove, live. Oh, hell I like the whole box set!

Alice In Chains. If you've never listened to them and you like rock/grunge, I suggest you listen to them. IMHO the best Seattle grunge band, blowns Nirvana away.

I couldn't agree more. They just found a singer that sounds eerily like Layne Staley. I'm guessing they are making an album and touring sometime.....kinda cool.

Yup...and I love every minute of it.

While I agree that much zeppelin is overplayed, I like alot of the live jams and tracks that don't get played much, such as Bron-yr-aur, and Traveling Riverside Blues...when was the last time you heard those on the radio?

I heard something on the radio tonight taling about a AIC tour...some press release from Jerry Cantrell.
