Do the factory steel tube style case fill transmission dipsticks fit in a V8 swap or do you have to use the flexible style? My truck has a 3" bodylift so it does have more room than most. Trans did not come with one so I don't have one to test.
I used a pricy braided stainless Lokar dipstick, for something as simple as an object that is dipped in a fluid to measure its level it fails miserably... you have to scrape it with your fingernail a couple times and take an average to find the fluid level.
As I was scraping on the headgasket surface tonight it hit me it would be an oppertune time to change the dipstick tube setup if I was going to... the bellhousing bolts are in plain view. It has been an irritation since the first time I put fluid in it.
