Fabtech Lift Kit

would shavin brake stop have any negative affect? right now the lower bolt to the caliper is starting to get dented from the damn brake stop so i think im gonna call 4WheelParts and ask about it cuz in order to avoid it i have to turn even wider!!
any suggestions besides the shaving because i got the warranty on the lift kit for 3 years -FREE so if i shave em i think it'll void that

Im new to the forum but I just bought the fabtech 3" spindle lift for torsion suspension on my 2003 Edge and it was $1000 out the door from 4Wheel Parts so you're gettin deal there...and I bought some blacked steelies and 31" BFG's for a little over $1000 and Discount Tire with warranty...the Fabtech lift kit is pretty sweet...the only thing im complaining about is the HUGE loss of turn radius...looking for a cure like skinnier calipers or something

:icon_confused:not to rain on your parade but 4wheelparts its extremely overpriced.

I understand about buying BFG's couldnt go wrong but they are really expensive tires.

I suggest you go around town to the local shops that lift trucks and tell them what you want done and shop around until you find the cheapest one. Another thing I suggest is you check out craigslist, because of this economy people are stripping expensive shit off the vehicle or just selling the vehicle all together cheap to pay bills.good luck

thanks GreatWhite. as I said in the thread I already bought the kit but i will take ur advice and hit up some of these other shops...where u at in SoCal...lookin for trails that won't kill a 2WD!!

OK, I've seen pics of 3 instances of these eBay spindle lifts over on R-F. Granted, I don't know how much these guys beat on their 2WD street queens, but still. One of them happened when he was on the street @ 30 mph and his tire rolled past his limping truck in traffic. Not cool.

I have no personal experience, but if you are gonna use it (whether its cast or not), dont beat on it. Get the more expensive, better brand if you are gonna do frequent (but still light) wheeling. Those cheaper lifts are only reliable if used mainly for street application. No personal experience, but jsut going off of what Ive read from the users.

I live in Santa Clarita, trouble is I dont find myself offroading a lot unless another 2wd is coming along then I just hit some mild trails around my area usually. Usually I'll go with one of my two buddies because they have 4X4.
