Extremely Bad Gas Mileage

Don't need one.

You can use a test light and jumper wire. Did you click on the link?

You just count the number of times the light 'lights up'.

It's simple man!

Just connect the test light and wire like in the pic, and watch for codes.

The test light will 'blink' the codes for you, if it blinks 2 times quickly, and then 5 times quickly, you have code 25. etc.

The F150 filter probably won't work.

The filter will be on the driverside framerail, right under the drivers seat.
That is where the Boost pump is. The truck has 2 fuel pumps, on in tank that is like 3-4PSI and a 30-40PSI boost pump on the frame rail. There is like 3-4 filters on your truck. Mine I know has one on the inside frame rail where it starts to bend up in the front. Right about where the drivers side dash is, but on the inside frame rail. It is a pain in the arse to get to, but it can be done. There might be one(some do, some don't) between the 2 pumps that is a plastic canister style. There is the in tank sock, and another sock at the fuel rail on the engine.

As for bad mileage, are you letting it idle to warm up? Does it run just like normal? No stumbling, shacking, does it not have the same power? Are your front hubs locked?
Nick

i have auto hubs and it runs normal excepts for a little lag when i shift into 3rd thats bout it and yea i let it idle

When you let it idle to get warm in cold weather, you loose a good amount of gas because of the rich setting for so long. Did it only do it this one tank, or all the tanks since then? When I idle my truck a lot while I am working on it, it get around 160 miles per tank(tank for my being 11 gal). Could be a stuck injector, but you usually can feel that. Check the FPR on the fuel rail, that could be a likely cause and if it is then it could be going in the brake booster/ into the intake manifold.

yea id like details on the vaccum teat as well and im goin to autozone now for a fuel filter ...my tank is a 17 gallon tank and it does it on everyone... it will be on 1/4 and when i put $10 in it at 2.04 a gallon which is roughly 5 gallons it reads full on the gauge .....

are Ford sending units really that crappy? Mine can be reading empty, and I can usually get in about 34L (9 gal)
