I will put my question upfront:
Has anyone used the skyjacker extreme drop pitman arm with the super runner steering kit? Or is this even possible.

Reason for Question:
I just got done installing a 6" class 2 skyjacker kit onto my 88 ranger 4x4 ext cab. The Tie Rod Angle was atrocious and was near impossible to drive with the Reg. Drop arm. After Installing the extreme drop pitman arm, it was drivable and in all honesty a lot better. However, for some reason I am holding my steering wheel with hands in the 2-3 o clock position in order to be going straight. My tie rod angle is still higher than id like it to be. I feel like it could drop down a couple more inches maybe. So i was wondering if there was any reason i couldn't use the extended drop arm with the super runner steering kit. Anyone seen this done, or have this setup currently? Any input would be great!.

Here is a picture of the tie rod angles with the standard drop arm just so you can see how bad it can get!

I have the 4" drop on mine and its fine. If you dont center your steering when you adjust your toe youll be holding the steering wheel like that. But also in area around me the roads are slanted for water run off... So youll never be holding the wheel 100% straight.

Ok, so when i go to align it I can deal with centering the steering. I guess im still wondering though if it is possible to pair the Extreme drop pitman arm with the super runner steering setup.?

Short answer: no.

Long answer: no b/c the idler arm wouldn't be on the same plane as the extreme SJ arm and your centerlink would be crooked...since they drop different amounts (2" vs 4", roughly)

Please read the below article top to bottom, it will clear up any questions you have and how the various systems work:

How come you attempted to drive it with the stock arm?

Ok, that makes sense.

It wasnt the stock pit arm, it was a standard drop arm. The truck already had a 4" lift on it, and it didnt really seem like the 6" s.j. kit gave me much more lift (maybe an inch or so)... So, i figured the angle wouldnt be noticeably worse. I WAS WRONG. With the extreme drop arm, it drives wayyy better, and the tie rod angle is actually flatter now than when the 4" kit was on. Although, it does pull to the left now which is annoying, however i have not aligned it yet.

Yeah, the proper way to do a Superlift Superrunner steering kit is to drop down the block where the tie rods attach.
Once this is done, the steering kit actually works extremely well. But without that it's only marginally better than a dropped arm alone is.

It's unfortunate issues like these are happening, but without the suspension industry having any interest in fixing them on their end, we just have to deal with it ourselves.
