so i have a 1994 ranger splash with a 3.0...and when i opened the hood the other day, i noticed about a 1 cubic foot of "emptiness" up front on passenger side...does anything normally go there? lol....

well anyways.....Under the hood of my mother's '97 GMC Yukon with the 5.8 or whatever....there is an "extra" storage space compartment thingy....well, i was wondering if you guys know where i could get one cheap and what its called exactly, cause i couldnt find it....or should i just grab some extra metal from random signs i stole, i mean found along side the road....and make my own box?

:icon_welder:

Thanks!!

that big gap behind the passenger headlight is normal. it does give you some space to mount something cool of your choice which is nice.

It probably doesn't have A/C does it?

Other cars may have a storage compartment there, but I truely believe that this is a bad idea. Engines need space for the air to move around in the compartment, otherwise they get too hot in spots and do the whole bursting into flames thing.

Could you post pics of the so called empty area and storage box?

it does have AC....well suppost to....but it is missing the ??condenser?? or something like that, my dad knows...but its almost winter here so AC isnt needed...but what its missing mounts to the motor, via drivers side....cant remember what it is....

ill get a pic up in a bit....indiana's weather blows massively...just wait a few more minutes and it will change though...haha.:icon_thumby:

extra space under my hood?

here are some pics...hope they work.

my truck has that spot too and it has A/C. im pretty sure its just some random empty spot.

yeah, i think im just gonna fab up a box to store like a tow-strap, cause this thing breaks down on me alot...i doubt ill use it to pull some1 else out, lol. :annoyed: but thats my luck with ford...so, ill start working on that, maybe soon, doubt it though, cause its fair week...so eventually...ill put pics up too.

i just bought a 96 ranger, and where that empty space is, the stock airbox goes in there, but on the older 93-94 model, its just an open space, guess if you wanted to you could add a battery tray there and run a dual battery setup.
