extending radius arms

I've never had a problem with my suspension from the cops (PA state lift laws are horribly stiff) and I'm a certified inspection mechanic so I make sure my shit's safe.

Good to know that this mod can pass legal inspection! is there any reason other then adding strength to the bend, why you used that splice plate?does the splice over lap the joint on the pointed end of the stock arms? and did you box in the inside of the stock arm or just weld all around the tube? My buddy didn't box in his wheelers extended arms and the weld split apart on a trail.

Mine are almost identical to dogboy's except i used the stock-style donut bushings.
I angled the tube in the arm slightly for tire clearance prior to welding it (tire still hits it a just little at full lock, but doesn't impede turning radius at all... 35x12.50s on 15x8 w/3.75" backspace)

Boxed 'em in. You can see in my photo where I build my caster in at.

Nice job! I really like the look of the square tubing and cutting the cost by modifying the stock mounts sounds like a great idea. Thanks.

Got a pic of the completed frame brackets and the crossmember that ill have to fit and weld, cant wait to start on this!

Make SURE you have enough clearance for the driveshaft droop. I didn't and had to make a separate tranny crossmember.

Brink- what thickness material did you use for your cross member frame bracket? I'm looking at something similar to what you did for radius arms.

Alright finally got around to doing the suspension lift and building the radius arms. What do you think about these? Do you think there is enough gussets on the arms?

Everything's 1/4" mild steel burned in with a 220V MIG

Tried to post from my phone guess it didnt work. The gussets are 3/16th's should be plenty just want some more opinions

I would completely fill the back in with steel IMO. What joints did you go with? I don't reccognize them.

They are trailgear creeper joints

I think what you have will be fine personally if it's welded good.
