expoler tranny

hey guys i was wondering if anyone one knows what tranny came in the 94 2wd expolers i belive it is the m5od but i am new to the ford scene and not positive if it is the only reason i am wondering is i am putting the 4.0 and the 5 speed in my ranger and i just wanted to make sure i know what tranny i have thanks guys u guys are allways tons of help

If it's a manual trans yes it's an M5OD. If it's an automatic it's an A4LD.

well thanks for clarifying that for me man yes it is a manuel i would not put another a4ld in my truck its went though 2 of em the first one made it 140000 miles the second one only made it 49,000 then when that one went it boiled fluid on my exhaust and caught fire i lost the wireing to injectors 3 spark plug wires a distributor cap heater box and 95persent of the wireing that goes to the computer. so to make long story short my buddie did me a favor amd totaled his exploer and sold it to me for 300 bucks i sold parts off it to make my money back and now i am putting a 4.o in my truck and the m5od lol a bad thing turned into a really good thing
