Explorer radiator swap?

That sounds like a nice upgrade... My question is, what do you do with the tranny cooler lines on the new radiator? Doesn't that make up a good chunk of the radiator?

I put brass plugs in mine so they didn’t accumulate debris, rot the tranny cooler portion and cause a coolant leak.

I've always used pipe plugs on those too.

This is a nice upgrade, I've done it several times. Be aware that it does take a little longer for the engine to get up to temp. The little 2.9 does not seem to make as much heat as the 4.0 does and it seems to run cooler for a lot longer especially on cold mornings.

Lower hose is a definite necessity as mentioned. The manual trans hose just doesn't work.

Thats ok i can deal with that. I wanna be able to drive this thing on the surface of the sun and not overheat it.

Like i said, i do use this thing as a truck. It tows, it hauls, etc. I dont wanna be dealing with an overheat towing a load of hay or something when its 100* out lol.

What hose did you use on the bottom?
