Any body know if you can get any lift by using the Explorer stuff on a Ranger? I am only looking to get 2-2.5" in the front of my truck. My goal is to keep it low, but still fit 33s. I like the stability of keeping the truck as low as possible, and only lifting enough to fit the tires you need/want. I am not sure if I like the idea of 2" springs without the drop bracket. That would be a pain in the ass to align and would be hard on the center joint in the diff. STX High Rider brackets are damn near impossible to find. Still searching...

Explorer brackets are no different than your Ranger 4x4 brackets.

you are going to need at least 4.5 to 5" of lift to fit 33's with no rubbing. if you are set on 2" get coil spacers.

How am I going to need 4"-5" to clear 33s when I already have 31s and they DON'T RUB. As a matter of fact, I have about 2-2 1/2"s of clearance at the closest point at all times. Even if they do rub, that's why I have a sawzall and die grinder with cut-off wheels. Don't make me use them! Hell, if I can't find the parts I want, I may make them fit with no lift. How's that sound?:temper:

well i can tell ya that when i had a 4" lift, my 33x12.5's rubbed a lot. i had to go 6" to get away from any rubbing.

go ahead and dont listen to anyone here, its your truck & your money wasted. :icon_thumby:

i had an 88 ranger no lift and 32x12.50 and no rubbing but it had cutout flares on it

thats why. you had cutouts. from his posts in other threads he wants this truck to perform like a prerunner. he needs more suspension travel than a cheap 2" lift will provide. with an 89 I find it hard to believe that 31's dont rub at all stock.

Somebody please delete this whole thread. It is so off topic it's not even funny. I found what I needed to know.
