exhuast gaasket

any links out there to do this on my own would help out cause i cant afford to take in and have it done. spoke with mechanic and i need to get the upper and lower ones replacede. thanks Brian

upper and lower....he must mean the manifold and "donut".

its pretty straight forward.....unless you break exhaust studs off in the head...then its no fun and can take some tools (drills, torches, taps & dies) to fix.

unbolt the manifold, replace gaskets, install manifold.

You may have meant to say Intake gaskets. they are the upper and lower. On a 92 they are probably in need of replacement.

There ARE no exhaust manifold gaskets on a 1992 4.0L.

thats true...but they can be installed when/if a leak develops.
