Excluder seals going out AGAIN


I typically never change the C-clips unless they are obviously damaged. Before you put the axle in, lightly tug on the seals to be sure that they are indeed seated on the CV joint.
 
old thread but to clear it up, the 2001 does not have a c-clip, it has a live axle setup and uses a nut on the end of the axle shaft. The only years that used that c-clip ring thing were the 1998,1999, & 2000, no other year.
 
I have 98 ranger 4x4 and that looks like the half shaft retainer ring that fits on the shaft in the hub just behind the splined hub lock area
