We got one for our kid from Amazon and like it enough that we've gotten two more since. They're surprisingly comfortable - would be perfect for what you're looking for. I wouldnt want to sleep in it every day because they're not great if you're over 200lbs. One night as a guest would be no problem. Yea, if its gonna be your in-laws sleeping on it you may just consider stuffing an old sack with some hay so they leave sooner...

I definitely wouldn't want memory foam then. There are some things a bed just shouldn't remember!

My house. It's just me and the dog, although my girlfriend usually stays the night on Saturdays. The guest room is for when my son or daughter visit, or if I open my house to a Ranger owner travelling across Texas.

We ordered one for my mother about a year ago. She liked this one enough... she had me order her a second one for my sisters house. There is no box spring required.

I have two of these mattresses myself. They are excellent. I bought a king for our bedroom and then a full the following year for my stepson. Ideally, I'd like to get another for the Murphy bed that's in my home office that occasionally doubles as a guest room. I will admit that when I am in hot water with the wife, I have slept in here myself.
