My stuck story:

I was 17 (late 80s) and drove to a friends house who lived on the outskirts of town. it was very muddy at the end of his drive, and as I was backing out (1030pm and dark) I did not see the huge rut that took my car (Mom and Dad's 1986 Cutlass Ciera)off the gravel drive and into the ditch. being young and dumb, I figured a little more gas would get me out. wrong. by the time I said "oh crap, better call Dad and get his help" i had the hub of the passenger side wheel buried in mud past the center line.

That car was stuck. Friends dad didn't have anything to get it out, my dad only had a 1988 Olds Eighty Eight, so nothing to pull it out. we called it a night, and I definitely made the numero uno spot on Dad's Fecal Roster that night, and he called the local tow truck to extract the car the next day. The tow truck was a 60s era Chevy (not sure of the model, but an F600 is equivalent) and this tow truck was big enough to tow grain trucks or box trucks. He nearly got the tow truck stuck trying to pull it out.

I can only imagine the trouble I could have got myself in at that age with a 4wd Ranger

Ive been stuck plenty of times with my four-wheeler, but not my truck, i don't trust my stock ranger in anything that looks too hard. Althogh there were a few close calls. I was driving around in a field after a rain, in 2wd. my rear wheels got into a hole, not paying attention, i tried to get 4x4 to turn on, but they won't engage until the front wheels move a little, and they weren't moving at all, i was just spinning there. I finally got it rocking and got the 4x4 on, climbed right out.
