Found yet another thing to fix on my 96 2.3L. I noticed a nasty hose going from the purge valve to charcoal canister. It wasn't even connected. So i took the hose off to test the valve and after truck warmed up no suction coming from valve. But idle is good, mpg is decent, and runs well. Wouldn't the hose being disconnected cause a noticeable issue or throw a code?
I'll start by replacing the hoses but not sure if I need a new valve, sensor, or both. Is there an order of operations when testing the EVAP?
